August’s review of the month comes from Maurice Woolgar, who had a great time trying out a Lamborghini driving experience in Surrey. Maurice won a £50 voucher for sending in this review and you could do the same!
Last Christmas my son and daughter-in-law presented me with a flat wrapped present, different to the usual spongy package containing a golf shirt or some other ill fitting item of clothing.
To my surprise, they had bought me a Lamborghini driving experience. It seemed like an extravagant present although they assured me it was outstanding value for money.
On the 1st of August my son took me to the race track in Chobham Surrey and as the bridge took us over the straight I watched an Audi R8 hurtling below us with an engine sound that is only emitted from a super car. I suddenly experienced a pang of nerves. Of course I have crept over the speed limit before, although only on motorways. Not around an adrenaline fuelled, macho haven, former test track, forged into the Surrey countryside with the sole purpose of allowing us aspiring race drivers the one moment of euphoric driving glory.
I am in my 79th year now and although I am grateful for any gift bought for me, this present ranked among the best.
Climbing into the Lamborghini, all mine (for 3 laps anyway) I got an inkling of life in the fast lane. As I squeezed the accelerator, the overwhelming feeling of power coursed through the car and my veins. In reality I may have been cruising round the track but it felt for one moment that I could have stepped into the shoes of the Stig and posted the best Lambo lap of the day.
I thank your team for providing me with an exhilarating and most enjoyable day. At my age it’s more about experiences now, rather than material gifts. I am going back again with my son to see who is the daddy of the Chobham race track.
